On the sixth of January, the day of Epiphany, the inhabitants of Guapi rub coal on their skin, put scarlet red make-up on their lips and dress up in banana leaves. Using a bombo, the guapireños occupy the streets while singing and asking for sweets from homes and shops in the village.
